Apple's iOS 8 is one of the hottest topics among iOS lovers.
In this post, we are going to share information about the latest rumors about iOS 8 and its leaked images.
The screenshots of iOS 8 have supposed to appear online just some days after Apple rolled out iOS 7.1 update for the iPhone and iPad. We have seen the screenshots of the OS first on the Chinese social network, Weibo. Apparently, the screen shots of a very early created of iOS 8. It seems like the current version of iOS and has new native apps that include Edit, Healthbook, Preview, and Tips. In another screenshot, we have seen the ‘About’ screen that shows the OS version as 8.0.
Right now, people are more excited about the latest version of Apple as CEO Tim Cook has revealed that the company has “big plans” on many occasions. There is some speculation about iOS 8 spread that believed to be codenamed “Okemo”. Other than this, many features are seen in the latest release, let’s check what they are:
With this upcoming release, Apple will likely to explore its options for its first ‘wearable’ computer release that focused around fitness and health. ‘Healthbook’, the latest health app, included in iOS 8 that bring features like heartrate monitor, a pedometer, iOS optimized interface and many more.
It is expected that Apple will bring latest features to Siri, the voice-activated virtual assistant with its upcoming version. We are expecting to have more voices within Siri in the UK and right now, only have access to a male voice. However, female voice is suggested by the iOS 7.1 beta for Siri, possibly even before iOS 8 comes out.
Now, users can easily add additional accounts to iPads and iPhones. Furthermore, iPad users can share their accounts among its family. This allows each member to have their own account. It is mainly useful for parents with young children for improved parental control.
Apple made some changes to Multitasking in iOS 7, but we’d like to see these changes go even further. We find Sam Beckett’s Split Screen Multitasking concept better. Split screen is the most likeable in iOS 8 that increase productivity significantly and such features constantly requiring while using iPad. Moreover, we also like to close open apps straight away.
New Touch ID features:
CEO Tim Cook spoke about regarding Apple’s Touch ID fingerprint sensor at the time of Apple’s earnings call for the first quarter of 2014 and such functionality was introduced in September 2013 with the iPhone 5s. Regard of this feature, CEO said, “The mobile payments area in general is one that we’ve been intrigued with – that was one of the thoughts behind Touch ID”. He added, “But we’re not limiting ourselves to that. I don’t have anything specific to announce today, but you can tell by looking at the demographics of our customers and the amount of commerce that goes through iOS devices versus the competition that it’s a big opportunity on the platform.”
Considering Cook’s comments, we are expected that we should watch for new services that work with the Touch ID in upcoming iOS versions.
According to the Wall Street Journal report, Apple wants to create a new payments system that can be used by using the fingerprint scanner in the iPhone 5S. Now, you must be thinking how it works? Let me say you this would work soon.
The addition of Control Centre with iOS 7 was loved by us and we think Apple could take it further in the upcoming versions. Conceivably, Apple will deliver more control over the Control Centre by allowing users to decide which apps they want to access.
Notifications are one of the most addressed areas that we are going to expect in iOS 8. It seems to be bit awkward at the moment. Moreover, in Notifications, we would like to see a universal control to clear all the previous notification at once as in iOS 7, users have to delete apps manually.
An interesting acquisition is made by Apple in 2013 for small software house, known as Cue, which is specializing in smart assistant programming. With Cue, Apple includes smarter push notifications that deliver the information we require at the right time.
Users have been asking for the ability to exit autocorrect on an app-by-app basis since before iOS 7 as it stops those awkward errors that we so often see.
Default Third-party Browser:
There are many people using Apple Macs, but mostly 20% of them are using Safari as their default web browser. Among them, most of like to use Firefox and Chrome. So, it is expected that Apple adds the capability to change the default browsers to a third-party one in iOS 8.
Plague iOS users have issued with Battery life. When we discussed with people about their expectation with iOS 8, they instantly answer battery life that took the top spot. Apple could preserve battery life by adding a battery emergency feature to devices. Another way is to program device with automatically lower the brightness, Bluetooth and location services, switch off 3G, and so on to stay alive.
In recent update, we have seen that Apple hasn’t show much love for FaceTime, except the addition of FaceTime Audio. We are expecting more from Apple like to add functionality of group calling. The ability to conduct group calls are already offered by Skype, so adding FaceTime would be a plus point for users.
When will iOS 8 be launched?
Usually, Apple has used its Worldwide Developers Conference to introduce its latest iOS version. So, it is expected that the same tradition to continue this year. WWDC is generally arranged in June, but it will update to you by us. It is also supposed that iOS 8 to be released until the next generation iPhone comes out, which most likely in September. Furthermore, developers get their beta form of iOS 8 to test and begin working on their apps previous to the public release between June and September.
