We all know that last week, Microsoft launched its most influential OS Windows 10 skipping Windows 9.

Lots of people have a question in their mind that why company jumps to Windows 10, so go through this blog and find the reason behind it.

As we all were expecting for a new version of Windows, the company launched it two years after, but unfortunately not as expected. Earlier this week, the company came-up an interesting twist as it jumps to Windows 10 skipping Windows 9.

Many of you all may have a question in your mind that why company skips Windows 9? What’s wrong with the company? When it asked to the company for the bizarre jump, the Terry Myerson, the Microsoft executive vice president in charge of the Windows division, said in a company blog post, “There were just so many changes to the system. The name “represents the first step of a whole new generation of Windows.”

At the time of official launch of Redmond’s latest OS, the company clarified that the upcoming update was so great that it warranted a ’10’ moniker. The company also believes that this all new OS ‘Windows 10’ will bring a new chapter in the history of Windows. However, still this is just a statement from the company, but another premise emerged through Reddit.

As per the Reddit user cranbourne, Microsoft decided to forgo Windows 9 on account of legacy code from third-party applications running checks for Windows 9x.

The comment reads: “Microsoft dev here, the internal rumors are that early testing revealed just how many third party products that had code of the form

If (version.StartsWith(“Windows 9”))
{ /* 95 and 98 */
} else {

and that this was the pragmatic solution to avoid that.

Almost, it is like Microsoft’s version of Y2K.

With the launch of Windows 10, the company brings back its Start button and the traditional start menu, a move meant to appease customers, who are demanding the familiar navigation tool.
